Due to the closure of North Kuner Road for storm and sanitary sewer installation between Brighton and Denver streets, a detour has been put in place for customers needing to access Brighton’s Animal Shelter located at 325 ½ North Kuner Road. This detour is expected to be in place for approximately two months.
Those needing to access the shelter should go north on North Kuner from the roundabout at Highway 7 and Highway 85 and follow the detour signs onto a gravel road on the west side of Kuner. The attached map highlights the detour in red. Access off Denver Street and North Kuner Road to Highway 85 will remain closed for all traffic throughout construction.
Caution is advised along the detour route as trenches, piles, materials and heavy equipment will be nearby.
“Wag’N” Donates pet masks
Carol Monaco, with Marketwise Insights, Inc., recently nominated Greater Brighton Fire to receive pet oxygen masks through a company called Wag’N. Brighton Fire was selected and Wag’N has donated pet O2 masks through a program called “O2 Fur Life” that provides the necessary equipment for pet rescue breathing. Greater Brighton Fire is one of only 14 fire departments in the State who have received pet O2 masks through this program. Five kits were donated through the program, which provides for one set of three masks for each of our five fire stations. Each kit contains three masks of different sizes for various size pets. The kits have been placed on the fire engines and crews have been trained in using the masks. Thank you to Carol and Wag’N for the generous donation.
