Guests Will Support Denver Zoo's New Rhino-Tapir Exhibit at Asian Tropics
Denver, CO (May 25, 2011) - Denver 's favorite summer party and Denver Zoo's largest fundraiser, Do At The Zoo is back again! This year, guests can learn and support our efforts to build the 10-acre, $50 million Asian Tropics exhibit. Presented by Haselden Construction, Do At The Zoo kicks off at 6 p.m. for VIP early entrance and at 7 p.m. for regular ticket holders on Thursday, June 16. Denver Zoo will close at noon on June 16 to set up for the gala. Tickets for the event are on sale now at www.denverzoo.org.
Join Denver 's wild party animals for the zoo's best gala ever, featuring more than 60 of Denver 's top restaurants and bars serving their best menu items and signature drinks. Guests also will experience music, dancing and close-up animal encounters in the incomparable setting of Denver Zoo at twilight.
In its 21-year history, 36,100 Do At The Zoo guests have raised more than $8 million to improve Denver Zoo and support its animal conservation efforts. Funds from this year's event will benefit the new 10-acre Asian Tropics conservation center, specifically the rhino-tapir exhibit. Malayan tapirs and greater one-horned rhinos are two of many Asian animals who will inhabit Asian Tropics when it opens in 2012. The greater one-horned rhino will be a new animal to Denver Zoo. Plus, Zoo Improvement Bond funds will double the proceeds, matching every dollar earned.
